Updates on the 2012 Horse Trekking Schedule

We have made a few updates to our schedule for this coming season.

There is a new Four Day Trek on the schedule, June 11-14, which has five saddles open.
We removed the June 17-23 Seven Day Trek from the schedule (no bookings).
The July 21-27 Seven Day Trek has morphed into a Twelve Day Packhorse Trip, July 14-26, but it is already fully booked.

There are still plenty of spaces available on several of our rides, so have a look, and join us for a horse trek in the Kimberley!

We have some of our best memories with these three horses. They looked after all sorts of riders for many years and always did the right thing by us. Here’s to Buster, Gundy and Moses, all resting under the trees now.

Packhorse trip anyone?

We have a few folks interested in a twelve day pack horse trip, second half of July. If anyone is interested in a rare opportunity to travel a remote part of the Kimberley ‘old style’, please contact us. We are looking for three more truly adventurous souls, and experienced riders, to join up.

‘Free Rein’ Showing on Australia Day

The BBC Knowledge Channel will be showing ‘Free Rein’ again on Australia Day, January 26 at 7:30pm and again on January 27 at 11:40pm.

Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward spent four days with Digger’s Rest crew and horses, exploring the East Kimberley. The program follows the horse trek that Rachel and Bryan joined us on last May. It’s an entertaining show with scenes of riding in the bush and camping out, as well as a visit to the local Kununurra rodeo, cane toad busting, brumby spotting, and of course the spectacular scenery of the East Kimberley.

‘Free Rein’ with Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown to Air November 2

BBC Knowledge channel will be airing a program, ‘Free Rein’, with Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward on November 2, at 8:30pm. Bryan and Rachel spent four days with Digger’s Rest crew and horses, exploring the East Kimberley. It should be a good show, with plenty of entertaining moments.
