Diggers Rest Horses|Snarlie Girl

Going on twelve years, this mare is in her prime. Nyarlie’s my top horse for cattle work and for guiding. Her tendency to put others in their place with a mere flattening of the ears can come in handy, and that’s why she was bestowed with the nickname Snarlie years ago . Her proper name Nyarlie means little woman in the local lingo.

She’s a brilliant mustering horse because she’s keen to work the cattle but never gets too wound up. Guiding on her is a dream too. She sets a good walking pace, and is willing to climb over rocky spinifex ridges or wade through creeks…though she usually stops and peruses the waters:) I reckon she’s just playing it safe, which is much appreciated. One of her few flaws is the occasional shy, and perhaps a pig-root, at large dark objects, but again, that’s probably just her survival instincts kicking in.
