Saddles at Diggers Rest

The Australian stock saddle is suited to the long days we spend in the saddle.  It is always an adjustment to ride in a saddle other than your own, but the stock saddle is an easy one to get used to.   The thigh pads and deep seat hold you in, which can come in handy when riding in the bush.

Although we have used traditional stock saddles for years, I have found the cross breed saddle to be very comfortable as well.  A couple of years ago I finally let myself order a custom made saddle from Kent Saddlery. Turns out it was one of the better decisions I’ve made!  My saddle has a ‘stock horse’ tree and fits all but two of our horses, both of which are very high withered and difficult to fit with saddle anyway.  The saddle  also fit me perfectly from the get go.
