The Build Up at Diggers

You haven’t heard from us for a while! I took a much needed, much appreciated break to visit family and friends in the USA. October is a good time to get away since we are closed to guests and the rains haven’t started yet, but it’s also a hard time to be away, worrying about the harsh conditions for the animals, and the humans! A bush fire came through in September, leaving much of the country burnt out. Fortunately, we were able to protect most of our tanks and water lines. The cattle and horses all shifted to the few paddocks that were saved.

We have had enough rain now that most of the dams are good, the waterholes are waterholes again, the King River is running, and the cattle and horses have some green pick! With temps still in the 40s celsius most days, the horses are on holiday for a bit longer.
