Diggers Rest Horses|Chingaloo

Chingaloo, which means ‘little man’, is a sturdy, tough little horse. He may not be the bravest of Diggers horses but when you ask something of him he comes through for you. At mustering time, Chingaloo steps up to the task at hand, ears on the cattle and ready to turn on a dime.

The name has a bit of history too…

Roderick also named his first pony Chingaloo. When he was just a little tike, the two of them, boy and horse, would head for the flats south of Wyndham, looking for adventure. They found it one day when Roderick came across some stray cattle. He thought he would do the right thing and try to muster them up, but soon received a tongue lashing by a drover who was tailing the ‘strays’. That was probably just one of many times they would have been in the thick of it.
